บะหมี่แห้งไข

Fuji Supermarket. Excellent this time! 82.25 บาท

This is probably my favorite place so far. They humour my attempts at writing in ภาษาไทย and take the time to correct me and write new words :). You order by writing down on a slip of paper, so that's how it all started. And it's delicious.

At Ramen Tei. Bankara and Tan Tan Men better. 250 บาท

New Mall. Design inherited from Osaka?

Fail room. Took forever to find (20 minutes, not 10 from BTS) past dirty areas (particularly so) and lots of pollution. Plus: Thai neighborhood. Minus: price and location. I suppose the owner (from Hawai'i) figures her English skills offset the overly high pricetag.

Big, but I've seen better, more convenient, and nicer for cheaper.

Dunno what this was called. Some kind of curry rice with fried chicken sold by a Hejabi. 30 บาท

Apt. Search 4/Don't Die Violin!

ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือมู

Well the Thai characters just spell out Satay Nuea Australia, so I won't bother typing it. 390 บาท. Don't know how it got so high, I went in for the 90 บาท noodles...

Cheapest one yet. Taiwanese and Japanese and Thai neighbors. New top of the list. Receptionist speaks great English and Chinese as well as Thai. OP.

Humidity and weather fluctuations = violin death.

Stay with me violin!

มวกเหล็ก

The crag. Apparently at 1500m about sea level. Nice hike up. Muddy slippery hike down. Less fun.

Jon is kinda super ripped.

Our (their) gear.

A dead millipede.

Richard's brown rice in the shape of a turtle. Strange restaurant. Felt like I wasn't in Thailand anymore. Steaks and very convincing Southern decor. Lactose everywhere.

Jon and Jeremy. I had an ostrich steak. Forgot to photo it. Whatever, it was 295 บาท

Hopefully I'll get some photos from Jon, whose camera I used a bunch. The view from the top of the pitches was stunning, but of course I didn't bother bringing my camera on lead. I hate falling and didn't want to think of anything else.

Fun fact: I sport climb and boulder the same American numerical grade. 10.

Japanese Food Presentation Is OP

Assorted Fruit Parfait

Dragonfruit, kiwi fruit, papaya, pomelo, guava, passionfruit, longan, and stuff. Don't remember how much this was as it wasn't mine. I had a 160 บาท Nepali veggie curry.

Tonkatsu Omelette Curry Rice 240 บาท?

พหลโยธิน

Adventure to find a digital piano. No motorcycle taxis or taxis for me! Busses! Unfortunately no one knows street numbers, here, only soi numbers (and I only had a street number) and I overshot the impossible to find place many times. Good fun though. Luckily I can read and speak well enough now.

Absurdly nice. Also beyond our price range. Yes, our. Looking with a new friend from Couchsurfing.

Don't intend to ride one of these.

Now that is just trashy, Bangkok.

Apt. Search 2/Bug & Bee

I was set on this place (Val's cousin's). Then I found out it was twice as much as I thought (miscommunication fail). Man! Walking distance from work, too!

The view from said place.

Paneer Fruit Salad

Duck Confit

The star of the show, easily: Mango Chicken Kiev.

As a side note, I love how so many things are written out in ภาษาไทย to phonetically translate things. Even things that exist in ภาษาไทย. Like Mango. Or on my current soi: Bangkok Business Center.

นนทบุรี

Listening to Spaniards talk about the European Economic crisis behind us. We decided they were from Barcelona.

I actually requested the mall this time. But definitely not for the A/C. I'm finding the much hyped "hottest city in the world" to be a bit cold. Too much pollution being on the river all day. Terminal 21 is kind of ridiculous. Beats Pacific Place in HK even. Each floor themed for a city. Well, there's also "Caribbean". Then Rome, Paris, Tokyo, London, Istanbul, San Francisco, and Hollywod. Oddly San Francisco gets two floors... For food.

Wat, Did You Say?

Remember. They're NOT ไมย.

Dirtiest part of the body. But I guess he can point them at us, eh?

People drop coins into these. Makes a very nice meditative sound, actually.

Planning. Surprise.

Nom nom nom.

And now for something different. MBK after meeting up with Aaron. Kevin found his Tag Heuer knock off. But it was ridicihuge.
